This scrimshawed powder horn has a mottled white body that nicely displays the scrimshaw. The tip has a raised end to secure a strap, and a grooved transition to an engrailed border to the horn body. The horn measures 12" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. The iron staple adds about 1/2" to the overall length. Small wood and iron pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a woven lanyard. The horn is scrimshawed with a verse that reads, "May Your Am Be Steady / And Your Shot Be True / For The Powder Is Dry For You" on the left side, and the top and right side has a sun peaking over a banner for a name with a 1776 date.

Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unused condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind item from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
