This powder horn is finished with a warm brown patina on the body and has a darker brown tip. The tip has a raised lip, and the neck has a raised ring to secure a strap. The body of the horn has a engrailed scrimshaw border at the neck. The horn is scrimshaw engraved with a hell horse, Crown Point fort, and Pennsylvania Dutch designs. The horn measures 13" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. A iron staple is fitted to the base of the horn. Small iron pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a woven lanyard.
