This rifle was stocked by Mike Kuffler in highly figured walnut, and the buttstock and forearm are stained and finished a nice brown tone with low glass finish to best display the figure. The stock has a few minor handling marks from use. The wrist and forend are neatly checkered, and the wrist is shaped with a pistol grip. The buttplate is checkered and comfortable when shouldered. The left side is shaped with a large beavertail cheek piece with accent line. The checkered forend has a Schnabel shape at front with ebony insert.
The tang was factory drilled and tapped for a tang sight. We note the front filler screw is missing. The action, lever, and hammer are color case hardened and still show original coloring is most areas. There is finish wear and light pitting on the action and lever where it is handled frequently. The lever works smoothly, and the extractor is positive. The hammer is cocked to full-cock, as the action is opened, and the set triggers function correctly. The lower tang is stamped PAT.
