An inexpensive replica pistol based off the British Sea Service pistol but with a straight octagon barrel instead. Made in Japan by Miroku these were sold as modestly priced muzzle loading gun kits, packaged for Christmas giving, during the late 1970s. The lock have very basic internals and this lock has very weak springs and does not spark at all currently. Stocked in beech, a maple-like wood popularly used on European muskets. The ramrod is missing.

The straight octagon barrel is 9" length, with a .69" caliber smoothbore. The bore does have some scattered spots from firing with deferred cleaning. A large brass bead sight is fitted behind the muzzle, no rear sight is fitted. The barrel is drilled with a direct drilled vent hole well centered on the heat of the flash. The left side of the barrel has the Japanese mfg. markings.

The lock on this pistol has very basic internals with wire sear spring and a very weak mainspring. It does not spark at all. The lock plate on this pistol is marked with a crown over GR, indicating owner ship by the King (Georgius Rex). The lock has speckled brown spots on the mottled case hardened finish.

A good pistol for decorator or to carry as part of a historic impression. It is non-functional as-is. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund. Postage is your only risk, when you order any one-of-a-kind gun from Track, whether new, used, or antique.
