Build an early percussion longrifle, or converted flint Tennessee or late longrifle using our late Ketland cap lock.
This “conversion" lock interchanges with our late Ketland flint lock. If you are planning a gun with interchangeable ignition, we recommend fitting the percussion lock first, to insure a good fit of the drum to the lock plate. The plate must support the drum.
Notice the rounded corner ahead of the drum notch, instantly identifying this as a flint conversion lock. File it square to update it to a later style. Use our 1/2" diameter #Drum-8-5-F-N and 1/4 - 28 #RST-S nipple. The deep hammer cup protects the shooter against cap spray, and the cast-in checkering provides a good grip for your thumb. Most commonly mounted with only one lock bolt, this plate is long enough to allow the use of two lock bolts, if desired.
Made in the U.S.A., by R. E. Davis Co., this is a good choice for a percussion longrifle or target pistol. We stock every spare part to fit this late Ketland percussion conversion lock.
This lock is shown at exact-full-size, in Track's new catalog for gunmakers and gunsmiths.
