Pattern for late 1700's to 1800's broadfall pants. Number sizes on the patterns are the waistline size of the pants. These pants are high waisted. The original pants have very baggy seats. This pattern has a option for a more modern fit. These pants were worn before the invention of the sewing machine, so handsewing is the most authentic method of construction. If you choose to make these with a sewing machinee, do not topstich anything, you may want to make the visible button holes by hand. Make a Muslin dummy to insure proper fit before cutting the "good fabric". Inseam is about 30".

Suggested Fabrics to Use: Duck Canvas, Hopsacking, Heavy-Musin or Primitve type fabrics. Linen, Linen-Cotton Blend, Linsey-Woolsey, Wool Flannel, Blanket Wool. Leather: Deerskin, Elkskin, or Cowhide.

Materials: For leather pants: Cotton-wrapped Polyester thread for machine sewing, or waxed Linen, heavy Cotton, or Sinew thread for handsewing. Leather Cement and wooden mallet.
