English Style Ramrod Pipes, for 7/16" rod, wax cast brass or iron
|
|
Shown in side view, and top view, these ramrod pipes are round, with decorative rings, for 7/16" ramrod, in your choice of wax cast brass or iron (steel). Made for use on half stock or fullstock English sporting rifles.
English sporting rifles were most often trimmed in iron, while English trade guns and fusils were often trimmed in brass.
Our entry pipe (where rod enters the wood) has an integral skirt. The pipe body is about 2-1/16" overall, including the skirt. Your choice of wax cast brass or steel.
Our forward pipe, with lug for pin, is 1-5/32" overall length. Made for a fullstock gun (with wood extending to muzzle), most guns use two forward pipes. A few extra long guns use three forward pipes. Use one, or sometimes two #PIN-3/32 steel dowel pins, to retain a brass or iron pipe.
Our forward pipe, with swivel lug, is 1-5/32" overall length. Made for a fullstock gun (with wood extending to muzzle), use a single pipe to replace a forward pipe, and add a swivel lug to your rifle project. A few extra long guns use three forward pipes. Use one, or sometimes two #PIN-3/32 steel dowel pins, to retain a brass or iron pipe.
Fullstock guns, with wood to the muzzle, require one entry pipe, and two forward pipes with pin lugs. Order three mounting pins. Extra long fullstock guns may use three forward pipes.
Our forward pipe, with lug, may be mounted to the rib of a halfstock gun. Remove the pin lug, and file a flat on the pipe, and a matching flat into the rib. Cut the rib deep enough to allow the ramrod to slide smoothly down the inside of the rib, and through the pipe. Tin both flats with solder, cool, clamp in place, then re-heat to sweat solder the two flats together. Wipe off excess solder, using steel wool, while molten. We recommend using our #SOLDER-SB Stay-Brite extra strong solder and flux.
Halfstock guns, with metal underrib to the muzzle, require one entry pipe, and two forward pipes. Order one mounting pin or one mounting screw, plus solder and flux. Extra long halfstock guns may use three forward pipes.
