Fowler or Fusil Ramrod Pipes, Round, polished brass or iron
|
|
Shown in side view, and top view, these fusil or fowler ramrod pipes are unadorned, for your choice of 5/16" or 3/8" ramrod, available in your brass or iron, for fullstock rifles or fowling guns. They may be easily modified for use on a halfstock gun.
Designed by Tedd Cash, for use on fusils or fowlers, these are ideal for use on many of our Pennsylvania rifle stocks.
Our entry pipe (where rod enters the wood) has an integral skirt. The pipe body is 1-1/2" length, about 3-1/2" overall, including the skirt. Your choice of polished brass or steel. Use our #PIN-3/32" steel dowel pin for mounting the entry pipe on a fullstock or halfstock rifle.
Our forward pipe, with lug for pin, is 1-1/2" overall length. Made for a fullstock rifle (with wood extending to muzzle), most rifles use two forward pipes. Use one, or sometimes two #PIN-3/32 steel dowel pins, to retain a brass or silver pipe.
Our forward pipe plain for rib, 1-1/2" overall length. File a flat on the pipe, and a matching flat into the rib. Cut the rib deep enough to allow the ramrod to slide smoothly down the inside of the rib, and through the pipe. Tin both flats with solder, cool, clamp in place, then re-heat to sweat solder the two flats together. Wipe off excess solder, using steel wool, while molten. We recommend using our #SOLDER-SB Stay-Brite extra strong solder and flux.
Fullstock rifles, with wood to the muzzle, require one entry pipe, and two forward pipes with pin lugs. Order three mounting pins.
Halfstock rifles, with metal underrib to the muzzle, require one entry pipe, and two forward pipes without lugs. Order one mounting pin, plus solder and flux. Halfstock rifles use two forward pipes.
