Copied from an original, this hand-forged flint rifleman's combination tool is hardened and tempered, ideal for the French & Indian War or Revolutionary War re-enactor.
Made to serve the Davide Pedersoli Brown Bess or Springfield or Charleville Musket, the forged blade tightens the top jaw screw. You can easily change flints on your Brown Bess flint musket, using this tool. Use the flint knapping hammer to chip and sharpen flints. Unscrew the handle to find a hidden hand forged vent pick. Grind or file it, to fit and clean your gun's vent.
The handle is easily removed, with a hidden 5-.8mm thread, to extend your Italian manufactured musket ramrod. Due to the variation of shoulders on the ramrod ends his feature may require fitting to a ramrod to allow the ramrod to insert far enough to engage the internal threads. Reverse the hand forged worm to retrieve patches or wads, or wrap it with tow (flax waste), cotton balls, or cotton patches to clean your musket the old fashioned way.
Neatly hand forged, not a casting. Shown in Collector's Encyclopedia of the American Revolution.
