This brass sideplate is copied directly from the sideplate used on original 1803 and 1814 rifles. The sideplate includes a subtle error. The position of the front hole is not perfectly located, requiring installation of the front screw at a slight angle. Clearing the ramrod hole is essential, and the screw must be located slightly high. You may touch the bottom of the barrel, but not the ramrod.
This sideplate is retained by the two lock bolts, with large heads. Overall length 2-5/8", height 1".
